How do i log into my facebook account?

1. Make sure no one else is logged in
2. To log someone else out: Click the arrow ( ) at the top-right corner of Facebook and select Log Out
3. Go to the top of www.facebook.com and enter one of the following:
1. Email address: You can log in with any email address that is currently listed on your Facebook account
2. Username: You can also use your username to log in.
3. Mobile number: If you have a mobile number confirmed on your account you can enter it here (skip the zeros before the country code and any symbols)
4. Enter your password
5. Click Login 

  

What's the difference between logging in and signing up?

Sign up 

If you don't have a Facebook account, you can sign up for one in a few easy steps. To sign up for a brand new account, enter your name, birthday, gender, and email address into the form on www.facebook.com. Then pick a password. 

Log in
If you already have a Facebook account, you can log in to your account from the same page. Just enter your email address and password into the section at the top of the page and click Log In.

I can’t log in because I can't remember my mobile phone number or email address, or my mobile number or email changed. 

If you can't remember your login email address or the mobile number on your account, or one or both of these recently changed:

1. Try using your username (ex: https://www.facebook.com/username) and password to log in. If you don't know your username, ask a friend to go to your profile (timeline) and find it for you.
2. Try entering any other email addresses or phone numbers you might have added to your account. If you've added a mobile number to your account, you can log in by entering that number in the Email field. Start with the country code and remove any leading zeroes and symbols.
3. Ask one of your Facebook friends to view your profile (timeline) and send you the email address listed on your account. To get to your email address, have your friend:
   • Go to your profile (timeline) and click on the Info
   • Scroll down to Contact Information and copy down your email address
4. If you still can't get into your account after trying the suggestions above, try locating your account on the password reset page.

How do I change my login email address?

To change your login email address: 

1. Open the Account dropdown menu at the top right corner of Facebook and choose Account Settings.
2. Click the Edit link next to Email.
3. Click Add another email.
4. Type your new email address in the open field and click Save Changes.
5. You will be asked to enter your password for security purposes.
6. You will then be sent a confirmation email to the new email address. You will not be able to log in with the new address until it is confirmed.  

Note:

• Any of the email addresses associated with your account can be used as login email addresses.
• If you are having trouble accessing an existing account on the site, please do not create another account, as this is a violation of our Terms of Use and may delay resolution of the issue.

I deactivated my account. How do I reactivate it?

If you deactivated your account, you can reactivate it at any time simply by logging in with your login email address and password.

• If you do not remember your password, you can reset it here. 
• If you can't remember which email address you use to log in to Facebook, click here. 
• If you have other problems logging in to your account, please review the frequently asked questions listed in the Login and Password section of the Help Center.

Tip: If your account has been disabled for security reasons or due to a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, you may need to contact them to regain access to your account. 

I registered with my mobile number and now I can’t log in.

If you signed up for Facebook from your mobile phone, you can use your phone number and the password you created during the sign up process to log in on from a computer or phone.
If you're having trouble logging in:

1. Make sure you enter your entire phone number, including the country code. Leave out any extra zeros, + signs, or other special characters.
2. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies:
   • If you are trying to log in on a computer, follow these instructions
   • If you're trying to log in on your phone, follow these instructions
3. If you still can't log in, or you forgot your password, get help here.

I received an email confirming that someone else registered my email address.

Facebook sends a notification to every email address associated with an account when someone has been able to register one of the addresses on the account. This happens when a person clicks on a link sent to the email address when creating a new account, or when adding the address to an existing account.
If you still own the email address in question, you can add it back to your account by going to the "Settings" tab on the Account page and following the same process. You may want to change the password for the email address, as someone else may have been able to access it in order to confirm the contact change.
If you no longer own the address, you will not be able to add it back to your account. If you still own the email address but are unable to access it, please contact your email provider for assistance with regaining access to the address. 

How do I log out of Facebook?

The option to log out of your account is located in the account dropdown menu at the top-right corner of Facebook.
To get back to Facebook from the Help Center, click Back to Facebook in the top-right corner of this page. Then click the arrow ( ) at the top-right corner of Facebook and select Log Out.
